My day started off at the tents attending the Toronto Fashion Incubators semi-annual Press & Buyers event. This event celebrates and displays Canadian talent in all categories ranging from Footwear to Fur in a boutique/showroom-style tradeshow for industry professionals to see their debut.
What I like the most about this event is that its a special place for emerging talent and gives you a chance to see the raw talent that this country definitely has. In a world and industry sometimes where you feel like everyone is wearing the same damn thing (Neutrals X a million), it’s so refreshing to see authentic vision and non-comformity.
I didn’t get to personally visit each station but my personal faves were LAMARQUE, Puffin, Royal Fur Club and Tulsi MacRae.
Later that evening, I stopped the Broke and Living S/S 2016 preview hosted by Her Collective Media with my fellow blogger babe, Olivia Jordan.
Held in the West Queen West area, they turned an empty space into a curated gallery showing just how much love, sweat and tears goes into a collection. From behind the scene sketches and snaps.. it’s always good to see just how much work goes into creating and designing and gives future consumers a new-found appreciation for the wearable art that their pieces really are!
It’s always nice to see the crazy, insane talent that is in this season and I always look forward to TFW where I’m constantly blown away. Did you have a chance to visit any events? Does your city host a fashion week, tell me in the comments below!
