Hey y’all! How’s it hangin’? I’m writing this while sitting at my desk and signing up for as many Udemy courses as I possibly can. I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to learning as much as I can about my field, but strictly on my own terms – as much as I love absorbing new info, school isn’t my jam. A place like Udemy allows me to pick what exactly I want to learn with none of the extra fluff that usually comes with traditional education. Right now a bunch (read: 12,000) of their tutorials/courses are on sale for $15/each – which is a fucking steal considering the Google Analytics course that I just registered for usually runs about $299. What can I say, I love a good deal?
..But anyways, let’s get to the clothes! You should know by now that I am in love with Monochrome outfits and everything that comes with it. There is nothing that says ‘I woke up and decided to kick ass today’ than dressing in head to toe of your favourite hue. My favourite colours to rock are definitely Black, White, Red, Hot Pink/Fuchsia + Blue!
I wanted to keep the hues in check but also give a hint of surprise and texture to mix it up a bit. I took this distressed t-shirt (which I’m obsessed with by the way, going to get it in Black also!) with these ripped jeans and broke it up a bit by showing some skin. Initially, I wasn’t 100% sure the ‘double distressed’ look would work, but given the different shades of blue and the two types of rips, it actually turned out great. Kind of like wearing two different prints together – like I always say, it’s about balance.
The real star of this outfit are my accessories. Accessories play a major part in your overall look and take it from 0 to 100, #realquick! A matte red lip is classic and will go well with any outfit, leopard has been a neutral (way before Jenna Lyons said, NBD!) and of course a little bit of Gucci always adds to a look.
How do you guys feel about monochrome/monochromatic looks? Yay or Nay? Tell me in the comments below!
..Thanks for stopping by + reading!
