Hey babe – I hope that during this *odd* time you are still taking care of your skin! Seriously, if I don’t leave Quarantine with the babiest, softest skin possible – I will be so disappointed, haha.
I wanted to briefly chat about some of my HG aka Holy Grail brands, so regardless of individual products.
These will be the brands that I often gravitate to to see what’s new and I personally consider them trendsetters and industry leaders.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I love Skinceuticals! Like love love Skinceuticals, haha! So today, I wanted to briefly break down the products that will stay in my skin rotation and a few that I’m looking to try out.
HA Intensifier
The HA intensifier is one of my absolute favourite skincare products right now. The HA intensifier is a powerful corrective serum which is designed to hydrate your skin as well as have anti-aging properties by reducing crow’s feet and fine lines. I have found that it hydrates my skin without being too greasy and it doesn’t make me break out. There is truly nothing better then gliding this over my skin in the morning. It keeps my skin incredibly balanced and hydrated all.day.long.
Blemish Age Serum
Blemish age serum is ideal for those who are no longer teenagers (*cough*cough), but still find themselves fighting breakouts and congestion! I particularly like it because it isn’t too harsh on the skin but is very effective at fighting blemishes. I usually use about 2-3 drops on my face and have found that it layers under other serums very well and is good to use in the day or at night. The only negative feedback is that it can be drying so I wouldn’t recommend it to someone with dry skin to wear during the day. I’d wear it at night solely underneath a rich/non-comedogenic moisturizer.
Skinceuticals has a very diverse range of products but here are the two I’ve got on my list…
Metacell Renewal B3
I haven’t got the chance to try the Metacell Renewal B3 yet, but it is something I want to try very soon as it has a high concentration of Niacinamide. Niacinamide has a whole range of benefits for skin including minimizing redness, minimizes pores, regulates oil, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, treats acne and even protects your skin against skin damage. WOAH – that’s a lot in one serum, right?!
I have been looking for a product with a high level of Niacinamide in it due to all of the reasons mentioned above for a while now, which is why this is next up.
Phloretin CF Gel
Another great product from Skinceuticals I am dying to try is Phloretin CF gel, because it’s a skincare trifecta for me – Vitamin C, Phloretin and Ferulic Acid. This is truly a mash-up of antioxidants and skin-soothing agents that can improve the appearance of signs of aging. Phloretin, in particular protects against damaging free radicals (pollution, sun damage and junk in the air) as well as reducing the signs of discolouration. Ferulic acid has incredible anti-aging properties that helps reduce fine lines, spots and wrinkles. What appeals to me most is that this seems like it could be a preventative serum and a corrective serum, all in one.
So tell me, have you ever tried Skinceuticals before? If so, let me know what you’re loving or interested in on Instagram!
