WOW, it’s March – seriously, where did the time go? The first quarter of 2015 is almost over! Are you still on track with your New Years resolution? This is a great time to re-visit it, personally I am but I’ve paced them out in a more realistic time-frame. Anywho, I wanted to start sharing my favourites of the previous/past month with y’all.. once I get my YouTube channel up and running (awaiting my precious ring light, so freakin’ excited!) I’ll start posting my faves in a video but until then.. here are my #FebruaryFavourites <3
1) Kate Somerville, AntiBac Acne Clearing Lotion
This lotion has single-handedly changed my skin for the better, after the first couple of days of using it – I already knew that it would be in steady rotation for months and months to come. Not only does it give a slight mattification (sp?/real word?), it treats current breakouts and prevents new ones from popping up! It’s the first Benzoyl treatment that I’ve come across that does not make my skin feel like its burning. I use it in place of a serum – morning and night, and find it’s most effective when I use it without a moisturizer on top. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
2) MakeUp Forever Hydrating Primer
I had the opportunity to browse/shop for these ahead of the formal release date, so I’ve had quite a bit of time to play around and figure out how I truly feel about it. I really, really enjoy the hydrating primer – its been perfect for these awful Winter days that we’ve had in both Toronto & Chicago. I would definitely recommend the ‘Nourishing’ primer if you have dry-really dry skin, but if you’re normal/combo and looking for added hydration, without the ever present fear of greasiness/breaking out, this one is for you!
3) Maybelline FitMe Foundation, Matte + Poreless
UHHHHHHHHHMAAAAAAZING! Seriously, I won’t write a novel – I’ll just keep it short and sweet. This foundation is a total babe, great mattifying foundation and at a great price point. Flawless finish, and not a flat, velvet harsh finish. I love love love it – on steady rotation.
4) Inglot Gel Liner, #77
I’ve tried quite a few gel eyeliners in my day… Bobbi Brown, Sephora, MAC etc. None of them compare to the Inglot gel liner – it’s smooth, matte, stays all day and with the right brush gives you a crisp line like no other. Great as a base for your smokey eye looks as well. At a price point of around $18/CAD for 5.5grams? You’ll have this baby for a loOong time.
5) NARS Brow Gel, Kinshasa
I was on the hunt for a quality brow gel for a looong time, not only a great colour and formula, but also the perfect brush. I love NARS as a brand wholeheartedly and trust <most> of their products, so when I saw the brow gel, I decided to give it go! This formula is long-lasting, it definitely stays all day and the mid-tone brown blends in perfectly with my brows. The brush is large enough to get the job done quickly, but not too big to overpower and get messy.
6) Huda Lashes, Samantha
False lashes, can be a dime a dozen – but if you’re looking for a pair that’s a bit more lush than your average Ardell, Red Cherry, Kiss etc. Huda Lashes are it! These lashes are everything, I wore these on my birthday last year and I got a lot of compliments. The ‘Samantha’ lashes are heavier and more full than most falsies that I wear, but these have a great volume and curl – which allows them to blend in with my natural lashes flawlessly!
7) MAC Cosmetics Sheen Supreme Lipstick, Tea Ceremony
I feel like the overall ‘Sheen Supreme’ line from MAC does not get enough looooove! These lippies are awesome, great hydration, solid pigment and not glossy or stick or god forbid – sheer. ‘Tea Ceremony’ is my shit and unfortunately, MAC has discontinued it. I managed to buy a couple before I caught onto the trend and even though I really don’t need another nude lipstick. I’ll definitely be hunting this little lady down for the next year or so hahaha!
8) Jack Black Intense Therapy Hand Cream
OOOUUUUUIIIIIIII! Ladies, put down your fruity bath and body works, burt’s bees etc etc. This is the only hand cream you will ever need in your <LIFE>. No stupid scents and really not for anything other than pure, long lasting hydration for those awful hands. I keep this right by my bed side and one in purse – hands down the best hand cream I’ve ever used and I would actually *challenge* someone to show me something better!
9) Nicki Minaj – The Pinkprint
Even though this album was released on December 15th 2014 – I cannot get enough of it! I’m a huge Nicki fan and I really think this is her best work in her career thus far. I’ll definitely be listening to this album well into the spring and summer. My fave tracks are “All Things Go”, “Get on your knees”, “Feelin’ Myself”, “Want Some More”, “Favourite”, “The Night is Still Young” and “Bed of Lies”. That’s a ton of songs, but I am seriously loving this album – can’t get enough! Have you been listening to the album also? What are your favourite songs?
There you have it, my February faves! My YouTube channel should be up in time for March faves, but if not April faves indefinitely!
