HOLA! I get asked pretty frequently via DMs and emails for beauty advice – esp skincare! No surprise that as certified makeup artist, former skincare account executive and Sephora girl that I know a thing or twenty about skincare, makeup etc etc etc. So the Fall is always a great time for a revamp and I wanted to highlight some of my faves that I think are worth spending your money and also what’s going to give you lasting impact all the way to the Spring…
FACE SERUM
Face serums are super important and I would argue where you should absolutely invest in when it comes to skincare. Look for serums throughout the Fall and Winter like this one (full of nutrients AND hydrants) or some of my picks below… You want to ensure that your serum is complimenting the rest of your routine and promises to deliver the results that you’re looking for!
FACIAL MOISTURISER
Moisturisers is actually where I struggle with the most. I’ve got normal skin BUT I am prone to congestion/breakouts yet I do need hydration (don’t we all) but it can’t be too rich that my face is ridiculously greasy even at 5:00pm when I’m heading home from work *cough RoseHip Oil *cough*
Ideally, you are searching for the perfect balance of hydration that lasts all day or AT LEAST 8-10 hours that will keep your skin feeling comfortable even in -20 degree weather!
BODY
Don’t forget your precious limbs!! My body is ridiculously dry – like ashy factory, LOL *seriously tho* So naturally, I need all the luscious oils, butters and creams around to help me get through this wild upcoming weather! Aim for something smooth and rich but also fast absorbing – nothing worse than that continuous greasy feeling.. ugh!
FOUNDATION
Again, HYDRATION! Are you sensing a theme here lol? As much as I love all glowy/radiant/dewy foundations – A LOT of them break me out. So, finding a balance between maintaining hydration/radiance without overpowering your skin. Not only is the weather much colder but inside the heat is cranked way up! So you’re constantly having to adjust to your conditions. This F/W I am looking forward to breaking out my FAVE sheer radiant foundation with no breakouts…
LIPSTICK
LIPS! Ahhhh! Everyones fave topic haha! This is the easiest and cheapest way to experiment with your makeup bag when the seasons change. A deeper Red (like this one) is a simple and classic addition that looks good on EVERYONE. Yes, trust me – Red is made for all ladies.. I literally used to roll TF out of my eyes when people would tell me that.. like girl, trust me.. it’s poppin!
..However, if you’ve got 392010383 Reds like I do.. Maybe a cool tone nude is more up your alley? Or a bold Purple?
