Confession, I (kinda) hate skirts. I’ll be honest – I do. I find them overly complicated and a lot of times I’m never full comfortable.. always worried that my a$$ will fall out and the like. If you have great skirt, you also gotta pair it with a decent shirt and many times I find the process incredibly taxing so I just say F it and buy a dress instead.
2017 is a move to get out of my comfort zone when it comes to clothing/style/colours (you may have noticed it already if you follow me on insta) so when I saw this deconstructed mini at Zara, I figured now was as a good time as any to push myself a bit further while staying on trend. Don’t get me wrong, I love this skirt – I think it’s super super super cute and edgy/trendy with a fine-print houndstooth pattern.
Obviously, I had to be super obnoxious and pair these with the highest heels I have (in love with these combat boots – bought similar ones to match Queen Bey circa 2014) to give the outfit even more of an edge. Paired with a band tee (& no, I don’t listen to Iron Maiden!), Free People Kensington sunnies (so inexpensive – I own 3 pairs!) and my semi-staple red lip to round it out.
